Andrew Jacksons dream of white-pillared splendor resulted in the building of The Hermitage from 1819 to 1834 near Nashville, Tennessee. Like its forebear, this adaptation has six soaring Corinthian columns on both the front and the rear, sheltering balconies accessible from the second floor.
